Atrial gallop in coronary heart disease without overt infarction.

چکیده
A restrospective study was made of the apex cardiographic findings in patients with early coronary heart disease and in normal subjects, seen over a five-year period. Apex cardiograms had been performed on io8 patients with coronary heart disease without evidence of previous myocardial infarction, hypertension, or valvular disease. There was an enlarged 'a' wave in 68 (63%) cases. The resting electrocardiogram was abnormal in 27 (25%). An enlarged 'a' wave was commoner in those with an abnormal resting electrocardio-

Integrin Beta-3 Gene Polymorphism and Risk for Myocardial Infarction in Premature Coronary Disease
Background: Contradictory results have been obtained regarding the role of integrin, beta 3 (ITGB3) gene polymorphisms in occurrence of myocardial infarction (MI). Objectives: We aimed to assess the association between 1565C/T polymorphism of ITGB3 gene and increased risk for acute MI in patients with premature coronary artery disease (CAD). <strong...
متن کاملStroke is a coronary heart disease risk equivalent: implications for future clinical trials in secondary stroke prevention.
With an estimated 1 million cases per year in Europe, 1.2 million in North America, and 10 millions in the rest of the world, the burden of stroke is enormous. Stroke includes brain haemorrhage, transient ischaemic attacks (TIAs), and cerebral (brain) infarction (each of these causes accounting for approximately 15, 15, and 70% of cases, respectively). Overall, a quarter of all stroke patients ...
متن کاملGiant LV Thrombose and Thrombosed Coronary Aneurysm in an Infant with Kawasaki Disease
Background Kawasaki disease (KD) also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome is the febrile and self-limited vasculitis that occurs in children of all ages, especially younger than five years of age. Here, we describe a case of Kawasaki disease with coronary artery aneurysm and a big clot in LV with a diameter of 1.5 cm. <stron...
متن کاملAtrial fibrillation and the risk for myocardial infarction, all-cause mortality and heart failure: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Background In contemporary atrial fibrillation trials most deaths are cardiac related, whereas stroke and bleeding represent only a small subset of deaths. We aimed to evaluate the long-term risk of cardiac events and all-cause mortality in individuals with atrial fibrillation compared to no atrial fibrillation. Design A systematic review and meta-analysis of studies published between 1 January...
متن کاملClinical Significance of P Wave Dispersion in Prediction of Atrial Fibrillation in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
Background: P wave dispersion (PWD) is defined as the difference between the maximum P wave duration (Pmax) and the minimum P wave duration (Pmin) in 12-leads of the surface electrocardiography. The aim of this study was to evaluate the values of PWD during atrial fibrillation (AF) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods: We prospectively evaluated atrial rhythms of 350 patients (251 m...
